A DOUBLE HELPING OF THE SUNDAY JOINT
Coming up this weekend at Senses, the sixth edition of THE SUNDAY JOINT with DJ’s Roger C and Lloyd serving up a giant platter of funky beats both classic and contemporary. So if you haven’t come along and had your fill yet, then this is your perfect opportunity. A main course of serious funk & soul, flavoured with afrobeat & jazz breaks, spiced with hip-hop & a pinch of roots reggae. Cooking up a freestyle stew, that is enough to make any music fan’s mouth water. With animations, cult tv & kung-fu movies playing across the walls, super comfortable bean bags to lounge in & a friendly international crowd – THE SUNDAY JOINT is fast becoming the only place to spend your Sunday nights.
Come before 21:30 in time to get your free serving of vodka jellys, lovingly crafted with our own fair hands.
When Senses closes at midnight, Roger C & Lloyd will be heading to the other side of Raval, to play more tunes at a brand new club night called A FAMILY BUSINESS @ Sifo, c/Espalter 4… in the street opposite the legendary Absinthe bar. With a fat sound system and proper dance floor – this event will go on until late, and as the following day is a holiday, should be pretty crazy.

THE UNDERSEA PARTY
Last weekend one of our SUNDAY JOINT regulars (we’ll call her SK as she is very shy) & her housemates hosted an awesome costume party in the centre of BCN. It had a distinctly aquatic theme, with people dressed as fish, sharks, jellyfish, sailors, pirates, bathing beauties, lobsters, shrimps & god knows what else. If you were one of the lucky ones then check out the photo gallery at www.rogercowell.net/html/undersea_party.html and see if you’re up there. THE SUNDAY JOINT’s Roger C manned the decks & provided a solid eight hours of funk, soul, reggae, latin, hip-hop, afrobeat & mad party tunes, too everybody’s amazement we managed to get all the way through ‘til 8:00am without a visit from the police. More parties like that are definitely needed.
