SUNDAY JOINT XMAS PARTY

Phew - well finally, despite all the elements conspiring against us, THE SUNDAY JOINT managed to pull off it's first Xmas party. It was a near thing. First of all we rolled up at Senses, only to discover that there had been a bizarre toilet backing up accident during the night and all the toilets were ankle deep in shit and slurry. Big respect to Elm who soldiered on with mop & bucket, in order to get it all together, whilst we got on with the less messy jobs, like configuring the new video projector.

So we managed to turn in a good five hour set of soul, funk, reggae etc - complemented by screenings of Kurosawa's "Seven Samurai" and erm... the "Thunderbirds Christmas Special"... well we like a bit of diversity.

A packed house consumed all the Vodka Jellys - but it could have turned very ugly, when Mandy & Michelle's extended family won loads of the raffle prizes, whilst Mandy was picking the numbers... Many eyebrows were raised, but honestly it was just co-incidence.

Also maximum respect to all of our friends & visitors, who suffered the inconvenience of going out into the cold & using the bathrooms in the bar across the street - as ours were strictly 'off limits' for the night. I don't think a single person complained, which was much appreciated. Big ups to the remaining hardcore party people, who then joined us at Sifo, where Lloyd & myself teamed up with DJ Mervnic to keep the dancefloor jumping until 3.00am.
Finally a farewell to Jenn and Gemma, leaving BCN for San Fransisco & London respectively - thanks for your support and remember 'you can check out, but you can never leave'.

Thanks Roger! And thanks for a great double DJ session my last night in town. It was a great way to take off.......(by the way, if I ever DO get married, you're being flown out to take care of the tunes!)

Mon dio! yeah the garbage bin caught fire, luckily before any customers arrived, so I had to run down the shop & buy a giant size packet of incense sticks to mask the smell and that of the yeuchy bathrooms... what a night!

Everybody has neglected to mention that Lloyd didn't have any clean clothes to wear that evening, so he came out to play two dj sets & socialise for the night - wearing his pyjamas!!!!!!
